Training Overview

Training is available on a number of levels from introductory basic skills up to degree level.

Diplomas

Routes to various diplomas are available, either independently or as part of a structured apprenticeship programme.

Diplomas available are:

  • Level 2 Dipoma in Care
  • Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care
  • Level 4 Diploma in Adult Care
  • Level 4 Certificate in Principles of Leadership and Management for Adult Care
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership Management for Adult Care
  • Level 5 Certificate of Fundamental Knowledge in Commissioning for Wellbeing

Apprenticeships

We currently have 6 roles available as apprenticeship and which can be combined with the diploma options above.

Do not make the mistake of thinking that care apprenticeships are just for school leavers.

Care career apprenticeships are just as open to older people who want to change direction as they are to young people.

In fact, it is often easier to get stared in care if you have a little bit of life experience to draw upon.

University Degree

All of the qualifications above offer a solid foundation on which to progress to degree level learning.

Funding

The learning can often be supported by a mixture of employer contribution and government grants, but it will depend on individual circumstances.

In all instances of training where a formal qualification is the end result, you should expect to contribute some of your own time in addition to the work based learning. This means formal study in a quiet space away from work.

Studying in your own time makes sure there is time to cover all of the course material and gives you time to reflect on work based learning. This in turn helps to improve your understanding of the subject.
